The Story:
At the time of this painting, I was listening to a lot of news due to the pandemic, and (being an empath) felt the intense pull of polarization on both sides for many issues.
However, those emotions ended up slipping their way onto my canvas. I saw the divided nature of the piece reveal and present itself organically. So, I allowed the story of our current political world to unfold in markings and brushstrokes.
