Silent Auctions and the Gift of Giving!

There are several ways to showcase your art.

One in particular shows humility, charity, and love in an unforgettable way. That method would be a silent auction!

Never did I imagine my work being sold in this manner, but here we are!

Recently, my family told me we they were putting on a Benefit Jam for a dear family member with local artists in the area and would include a silent auction. I knew I wanted to help!

Not only did we have an incredible time and listen to fantastic musicians who gave up their night for my Aunt (who is facing Stage Four Liver Disease), but we were able to raise just over $5000 to help offset costs that surgery would put on her and her family during recovery.

I am overwhelmed with success of the night. However, that wasn't my favourite part. Mine was watching everyone band together with the strength of community and the kindness shined through the heart of giving.

For example, a friend of my Aunty's who was at the centre of making this night a success, knew that my Aunt wanted my painting called, "Skimming the Waters." Well, this same friend made the final bid on my work so that she could give it back to my Aunty!

That is true friendship. It showed such empathy and kindness. I am truly honoured that my work would go to such lovely people.

Being included in this silent auction lifted my spirits just as much as there's. I was so grateful that my talents through art could make such a difference in the lives of others! What a joy to experience.
